Created by innovative designer and out-of-the-box thinker Peter Fogg in 1997, the Air Humara was originally made as a technically proficient trail running shoe for use in difficult terrain and harsh weather. Today, it is experiencing a stunning renaissance as a sporty lifestyle model with a strong aesthetic that delivers high levels of comfort whatever the conditions.
Zoom Air: Pocket of pressurised air with tensile fibres has been placed in the forefoot to provide responsive support and effective shock absorption.
Air: Encapsulated Nike Air in the rear of the midsole offers soft, bouncy cushioning to the heel.
Leather: High-quality synthetic panelling brings durability.
Mesh: Mesh underlayer adds both flexibility and breathability.
Rubber: Rubber overlays protect the upper while also bringing textural variation.
Broad mesh placed over a flexible base layer.
Rubber panel on the toe protects the forefoot against scratches and abrasions.
Mudguards on the flanks and the heel stop dirt splashing up onto the upper.
Three-piece overlays form an arch over each flank.
T-shaped overlay on the forefoot and diagonal panelling on the heel feature reflective materials.
Short leather swoosh sits on the back half of each sidewall.
Webbed lacing system incorporates bands of textile that criss-cross over each flank, passing beneath the sidewall overlays and forming loops for the thick, sturdy laces to thread through.
Additional textile bands on the heel and tongue each form a pull tab at the top to facilitate easy on and off.
Textile band on the tongue has loops down its centre to hold the laces securely in place.
Oval-shaped tabs adorn the tongue and heel, the former with a thickly embroidered edge as well as Air text and a swoosh woven into it, the latter with simple swoosh embroidery in its centre.
Small swoosh embroidered onto the forefoot overlay and Air lettering woven through the lateral heel display finely crafted style.
Stitching on the sidewall and heel overlays marks where textile bands pass under them.
Deep construction, particularly below the heel, with two kinds of Air cushioning delivers maximum comfort and support.
Soft textile wrap over the entire feature protects against scratching.
Ridges in each side of the forefoot and heel connect to grooves in the outsole to aid flexibility.
Rubber tread is both durable and grippy.
Bidirectional grip pads angling in from the sides of the heel and forefoot help the wearer achieve good traction whether going up or downhill. More slanted pads through the middle of the foot keep things steady.
Additional studded areas on the toe, heel and each side of the midfoot help stabilise the foot.
Flex grooves appear on both the forefoot and heel for increased freedom of movement.
Swoosh and Air branding have been embossed below heel.
Diamond-shaped Trail logo with a swoosh in the centre resides below the arch of the foot.
Smaller diamonds dotted between the grip pads on the rear of the forefoot create an appealing visual effect.
Zoom Air lettering has been embossed onto the midfoot.
Soft fabric lining and insole padding offer gentle comfort around the foot.
Square patch on the rear of the tongue presents sizing details and other information about the particular model.
Square-shaped trail logo appears on the insole.
